DREUCICI / TVRZ DREVCICE
The first written references of this fortress are from 1052, when Villa Dreuci was a property of the Church of Stara Boleslav. Other documents testify the unique importance of Dreuci among monuments of this kind. During the period around year 1332 lived on this fortress Bartho Kokot in Drzewczicz.
Situated on an extensive grounds the fortress consists of the vaulted four-storied Gothic cellars with a total capacity up to 300 people in sitting and up to 1,000 people standing. The grounds of the fortress covering total area of 2,500m2 border on one side by a wall and on the other by a wooden stockade.
For catered events the whole area of the fortress is available including the main entrance with its Baroque gate and courtyard surrounded by gothic bastions. The interior of the fortress still has its original wooden ceiling with oak beams and supports. The floors are connected by wooden stairways and the ground floor has an open fireplace with a roasting grill and period tables and benches. The whole area of the fortress is lit by a combination of candles, torches and electric light. In winter the building is fully heated. Suitable for all kinds of historical programs.
